Northwest HIDTA prioritizes substance use prevention in Washington by supporting programs in risk factor reduction, education and skill-building, and other evidence-based, multi-sector approaches. Additionally, we support substance use disorder treatment and linkage to care that empowers people and reduces stigma.

Northwest HIDTA partners with programs ranging from local coalitions to statewide and national prevention and treatment organizations to promote science-backed practices, educate communities and families, and connect sectors to amplify impact.

Northwest HIDTA administers a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process biennially to support prevention and treatment organizations in eligible counties.*

The Northwest HIDTA 2025 prevention RFP closed on March 2, 2025.  Prevention organizations will next be able to apply to receive funding beginning in January 2027, for the two-year funding cycle that begins in July 2027.
